About Lorenz
I am a PhD student in Machine Learning at the AI centre at UCL. I obtained my MSc Statistics and BSc Mathematics at Imperial College London (Distinction + Dean’s list).
I am experienced tutoring university level maths and statistics (undergrad and MSc). I also have extensive experience (industry and academia) performing data analyses in R and Python and implementing machine learning and deep learning models.

I am flexible in tailoring the lessons to the students. While understanding the foundations of the algorithms is important, I will always provide examples of applications and actual hands on exercise. Rather than only teaching the tools and skills I think it is important to teach to the problem so the student can go off and solve new problems. Depending on the needs of the student suitability of methods and interpretability will play a key role in the lessons.
