About Ruben
Music became my passion at a very young age. After graduating high school, I immediately pursued a career in music. I attended Saddleback College where I studied with John Noreyko, the longtime jazz tubist at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. After transferring, I received my bachelor's and master's degree from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at Cal State University, Long Beach. At Long Beach, I studied with John Van Houten, the legendary film and TV recording artist. While the tuba is my main instrument, I also play the trombone, the euphonium, and drum set. I currently work as a sousaphone player with the Disneyland Band at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. I am a member of AFM Local 47.
