About Dan
Hi, I'm Dan and I've been a Middle and High School teacher for 14 years. I love working with young people, finding out about their interests, and helping them achieve whatever success they're pursuing. Do you have an essay you're working on in English or History? Are you writing your college app essay? Do you have a project that requires planning and organization? Do you just want to have fun exploring a history topic that you love? I'm a great choice to help with all of this and more! I've worked with students on everything from college applications and IB Diploma Program essays to class projects about Ancient Egypt and Passion Projects. I graduated from Holy Cross with a degree in History and, later, from the University of Rhode Island with a master's in History and Education.

My lessons are for any student from Grade 5 to 12 looking to grow in History and English. Work with me to develop your essays (classwork and college app), reading skills, and problem-solving skills. Or join me if you're interested in a fun and engaging inquiry project that will tap into your curiosity and creativity! In a typical lesson, we will start by assessing your needs (particular skills or assignment) and then dive right into work, feedback, and support. I'm confident that you will find me to be a warm and supportive tutor who will help you in a personalized way. I pride myself on being a *student-centered* educator, which means your voice and interests matter to me, and I believe that you can be the driver of your learning.
