About Matt
Former social studies/history teacher and department chair and current PhD candidate in philosophy and religion, with concentrations in philosophy, cosmology, and consciousness (MA) and ecology, spirituality, and religion (PhD) with special focus on dream research, psychology, and activism.
I have experience working with gifted, at-risk, emotionally, disturbed, and special education populations, both K-12 students and adult-learners. My work ranges from teaching, editing, coaching, consults, and helping students and life-long learners make progress on personal educational and life goals.

Fun lessons for students in Middle/High School and College, depending on desires, research interests, current needs. I draw from professional development with National Board of Teaching, Culturally Relevant Education, Gifted and Talented Education, Intelligence Analysis, and more.
My background draws from BA, MA, and PhD in world literature and cultural studies, education, and philosophy and religion in addition to personal interests in ecology, activism, and spirituality.
We'll start with a warm up, connect past lessons to current lesson, learn to master new content/skills, and practice applying concepts in real-world situations. Students have the choice of helping design lesson or following program. The goal of our time will be to have fun learning!
Lessons are personalized for specific age, grade, course, and special needs. I have experience working with students K-12 and undergraduate and graduates as well.
