About Joe Alexander
I am a student at Queen Mary University of London, studying English with Creative Writing. I taught my student for the duration of their GCSE year, during my A-Levels. When we started, she was working at a grade 3/D and achieved a 7/A after tutoring for a year. I helped her with literature, but also assisted with creative writing for both fiction and non-fiction. I have also taught several other GCSE and A-level students for one-off lessons and exam preparation.

My teaching style focusses on developing excitement and intrigue towards the subject of English, as I believe that a positive and engaging learning environment makes the content much easier to learn. I combine a deep and thorough examination of literature with a clear and precise approach, designed to enhance exam and learning techniques. I allow my students to cooperate with me and tell me how they learn best - for example, some students prefer a lecture-style approach, whilst others like doing activities to assist their learning. I offer many different approaches, and my lessons tend to consist of a mixture of revision, teaching new content and practicing techniques. As for my personal grades, I achieved a 9/A** in English Language GCSE, an 8/A* in English Literature, an A in A-Level English. In addition to this, I am on course for a 1st Class degree in English with Creative Writing at university.
