About Luan
Salut !
My name is Luan, and I am a native French speaker currently studying European & International Social and Political Studies at UCL. I offer friendly, personalised French lessons for students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners.
I have three years of tutoring experience with primary, middle, and high school students, and I would love to use this experience to help you reach your goals in French. Whether you are preparing for GCSE French or the French Baccalauréat, improving your school results, developing your conversational skills, or learning French for personal interest, I tailor each lesson to your needs and objectives.
As a native speaker, I can help you develop natural pronunciation, expand your vocabulary, and gain confidence in everyday French. My lessons can focus on grammar, writing, reading, speaking, listening, exam preparation, but also French culture and conversation on your interests in French, depending on what you need.
I am patient, organised, and encouraging. I believe that learning a language should be enjoyable and grounded in your interests. That is why I aim to create a relaxed, engaging atmosphere in which you can practise French confidently, make progress, and enjoy the learning process.
I look forward to helping you achieve your French goals !

- I offer a personalised approach based on your level, goals, interests, and learning style. Whether you are preparing for GCSEs or the French Baccalauréat, learning French for personal interest, or simply wanting to improve your confidence, I adapt each lesson to your needs.
- In our first lesson, we will discuss your current level, strengths, difficulties, and objectives. Based on this, I will create a personalised learning plan with clear goals and regular opportunities to review your progress.
- I have 4 years of tutoring experience accompanying students at primary to high-school level
- A typical lesson lasts one hour, although I can also offer 90-minute or two-hour sessions depending on your needs and availability.
- Depending on your needs and level, lessons can focus on structured language learning—such as vocabulary, grammar, and exam preparation—or take a more relaxed, conversation-based approach. I usually also explore French culture, everyday expressions, and real-life topics to help you feel more comfortable and confident using French. My aim is to help you use French confidently, naturally and independently, but most importantly help you have fun with it :)
- For students preparing for exams, I provide targeted support that complements what you are studying in class. This can include exam techniques, writing tasks, speaking practice, listening exercises, revision, and literary analysis for French Baccalauréat students.
