About Ian
I am retired after 40 years in the Southern African mining industry. I started my working life as a geologist, then progress to international metals and minerals marketing and finally general management as the CEO of a mining company. As well as a BSc Hons degree in Geology, post retirement I studied for and hold a Masters Degree (cum laude) in Applied Ethics. My thesis was on the application of Complexity Theory to Environmental Ethics. I have a keen interest in Buddhism. I am currently self employed in International investment management.

I believe in continual interaction with students. Exchanging ideas and encouraging deep, logical thinking. Helping them to be open minded without prejudice. To question everything and to think outside the box. Encourage them to read works on the great philosophers and to study the basics of Buddhism. There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers.
