About Libby
I’m Libby and I am 27 years old. I moved back to the UK in August 2025 after being in Germany for just short of 13 years. I kept my German-speaking job role up until the new year. Now I have an English-speaking role and would like to help other people learn German to keep me speaking and using the language.

German
I studied German at school before moving to Germany, which gave me a strong understanding of GCSE-level German and past papers. During the process of learning the language, there were many situations where I did not understand every word perfectly. This taught me how to understand sentences and overall context without relying on translating every individual word. That skill has helped me both in exams and in expanding my vocabulary more naturally, and I believe it is especially valuable for learners working through longer German texts.
I also developed close friendships in Germany and spent a great deal of time with native speakers, meaning my German extends well beyond textbook language. As a result, I have experience with different accents, dialects, and regional cultures across the country.
