I am an educator with a BA in Psychology and Business Administration with certifications in Literacy, Business Writing and Learning how to Learn. I have worked with learners at various levels from elementary/middle school through higher education. My philosophy on teaching is that learning is a process that should include critical thinking, life skills, and character building. What learners choose to know and the way they choose to learn it is specific to the individual person. Their learning should not be subjected to the convenience of the teacher. My personal teaching style focuses on constructing an interesting, relevant, and beneficial lesson that will engage the learner. The utilization of research based strategies enables learning on a high level and allow the me to use real life experience as examples. It also highlights how and why the learner should learn. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the teacher to facilitate an environment that promotes learning relative to the requirements of the individual learner.
