About Megan
-I want to get to know who you are as a person! I want to know what you think your strengths are, what areas of growth you believe are necessary, what your goals are, etc.
-I am fully aware and completely understand the complexities of how various wellness factors can affect our learning. I utilize creative, out-of-the-box thinking, when determining the best case plan route in these situations.
-We will work TOGETHER to achieve success. I am not “running the show” myself. I am in the passenger seat helping to guide you, while you are driving the car. But ultimately, the choice of working with me is up to you, as you are driving the car.
-I am genuinely interested in learning what methods seem to work best for you in education, and determining a plan that will support you to continue to progress in areas of need, even following tutoring.
-If appropriate, we can work on various skills to push through test anxiety, school-based social anxiety, how to work with teachers we may not learn the best from, etc.
-I am here as a positive adult support/mentor for my students, I am not here to simply complete a lesson plan and check a box off in order to get paid. I fully invest in my students and cheer for their success along the way.

-I get to know a little about each student before jumping right to lesson plans and tutoring.
-While getting to know the student, I will learn more about how they feel they learn best, what their strengths are, where they believe they struggle/what they would like help with.
-The information gathered both from the referral party as well as the client themselves, will determine what level of lesson plan the student would be appropriate for.
-What sets me apart as a tutor is that I will be a strengths-based positive adult support/mentor for any clients I may serve. I genuinely care about their success, even the “small” steps of growth. I also have lengthy experience in working with justice-involved and/or at-risk populations from middle school aged students and all the way up to adult education opportunities.
