About Rubaru

Hi, I'm Rubaru! Originally from Scarborough, I've made my way to McMaster University, where I'm currently embracing dorm life and all the unique experiences it brings. My academic journey is fueled by a deep passion for math and science, subjects that I've always had a knack for. This love for numbers and the natural world drives me, not just in my studies, but in how I view the world around me. Beyond the textbooks and lectures, I find joy in playing games with kids, tapping into their boundless energy and curiosity. It's an activity that not only allows me to share my enthusiasm for learning but also keeps me connected to my super friendly nature. Whether I'm solving complex problems or engaging in playful learning, I'm all about making the most of every moment and bringing positivity wherever I go.

My teaching approach is centered on the understanding that every student has a unique way of learning. I emphasize a personalized learning experience that caters to the individual needs of each student, ensuring that they not only improve academically but also grow in confidence and curiosity about the subject. Techniques I employ include:

Interactive Learning: Engaging students through interactive discussions, hands-on activities, and real-life applications of scientific concepts.
Feedback Loops: Providing continuous feedback to students and adapting teaching strategies based on their responses to maximize understanding.
Conceptual Understanding: Focusing on the underlying principles of science to foster a deep comprehension of the subject matter, rather than rote memorization.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Review Previous Material: Briefly revisit previous lessons to reinforce learning and address any lingering questions.
Introduce New Concepts: Present new information in manageable segments, using visuals, analogies, and examples to clarify complex ideas.
Interactive Activity: Engage in an activity or discussion that allows the student to apply the new concepts in a practical or thought-provoking way.
Assessment and Feedback: Assess understanding through a few questions or problems and provide immediate feedback.
Preview Next Lesson: Give a glimpse into the next topic to pique interest and prepare the student for future learning.
