About Susan
I am a Life Science Honors student in Biology and a Concurrent Education candidate with certification in Medical Terminology. My academic background has provided me with a strong foundation in biological sciences, as well as the skills needed to teach complex concepts in a clear and approachable way.
I am passionate about helping students build confidence in science by focusing on understanding rather than memorization. I use a patient, step-by-step teaching approach that adapts to each student’s learning style, whether they learn best through visuals, repetition, or hands-on problem solving. My goal is to make science feel less overwhelming and more engaging by connecting concepts to real-life examples.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I take the time to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where questions are always welcome. I aim to help students improve not only their grades, but also their confidence and independence in learning.
I tutor middle school and high school students in general science, biology, and life science courses, including support for quizzes, tests, and exam preparation.

My approach to tutoring focuses on building strong understanding and confidence in science, rather than relying on memorization. As a Life Science Honours student in Biology and a Concurrent Education candidate with certification in Medical Terminology, I specialize in breaking down complex science topics into simple, easy-to-follow explanations that make sense for middle school and high school learners. A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous content to reinforce learning and identify any areas of difficulty.
