About Alison
Hi! My name is Alison, and I’m a certified Special Education teacher with over 14 years of experience working with students who learn differently. I specialize in helping children with IEPs, ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, executive functioning challenges, and other unique needs thrive both academically and emotionally. I’ve worked in both elementary and middle school classrooms, and I know how to meet kids where they are — academically, socially, and emotionally. My approach is strengths-based and customized to each student’s learning style. I love helping students feel capable, successful, and proud of what they can achieve. I provide tutoring in: Reading & Writing Math (including foundational and grade-level concepts) Science & Social Studies Executive Functioning (organization, time management, task initiation) ️ Homework support and test prep What makes my tutoring different: ️ Calm, patient, and encouraging instruction ️ Specialized strategies aligned with IEP goals ️ Focus on confidence-building and real-world skills ️ Frequent parent communication and progress updates In-person sessions available locally Virtual sessions available anywhere After school, evenings, and weekend availability
