About Annabel
I am an A level student who would like to start teaching both to gain experience to become a teacher after A levels and to help students take the extra step to help them understand. I am a big believer that it is ok to ask for help and that those who do have an advantage; by choosing to ask for help, you can feel more secure in your understanding. I personally, love learning about new things outside of lessons, and passing on that information to others. I want to teach because I want to be able to pass on my knowledge to others, knowing that it will enable you to do some of the amazing things that humanity can do.

I tend to do shorter lessons of 30 minutes (max an hour) as I believe it’s important to get the best work out of a student in a shorter time whilst they have good concentration, rather than working them for longer and getting tired. My lessons tend to be very much around the student. I find out what they want help with, identify what they don’t understand/where they’re going wrong. I then explain it to them, often with diagrams, where useful and the give them some questions, some to do in the lesson where I can help them, and a few more for practice after the lesson, as much as they want to do to feel secure in their understanding. For longer lessons, I tend to let them have a quick break half way through, to allow them to grab a snack or some water and take a minute to rest, so their concentration is improved when ready to finish the lesson.
