About Zain
I am currently an A-Level student at Nixor College, Karachi, studying Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Economics. I have a strong interest in Mathematics and enjoy solving challenging problems and finding different ways to approach a question.
I have developed my communication and teaching skills through my experience as a Teacher Assistant, where I helped classmates understand difficult concepts, as well as through tutoring my younger siblings. These experiences taught me that every student learns differently, and that a good tutor needs to be patient, approachable, and able to explain the same concept in different ways.
I also believe strongly in learning through understanding and practice. In my own studies, I rely heavily on conceptual understanding, past-paper questions, and reviewing mistakes to improve. I hope to bring the same approach to my tutoring sessions while making Maths enjoyable and less intimidating for my students.
I am particularly interested in working with Grade 7–8 students because I believe this is an important stage for developing strong mathematical foundations and confidence that can benefit students throughout their academic journey.

My approach to tutoring is centered around building a strong conceptual understanding first and then applying that knowledge through extensive practice. I believe students learn Maths best when they understand the reasoning behind a method rather than simply memorizing formulas or steps.
I usually begin a lesson by explaining the underlying concept in a clear and structured way, followed by worked examples and progressively more challenging questions. A major part of my teaching involves using past-paper and exam-style questions, as I believe they are essential for developing problem-solving skills and becoming familiar with the way concepts are tested. I also encourage students to identify and learn from their mistakes rather than simply moving on after getting a question wrong.
I make use of online resources and interactive tools to supplement lessons and make learning more engaging. At the end of each session, I plan to use a short online quiz to assess the student's understanding of what was covered and identify areas that may need further attention in the next lesson.
A typical lesson would last around 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student's individual needs and level.
As an A-Level Maths student at Nixor College, I have developed a strong interest in Mathematics and have experience helping others understand difficult concepts. My lessons are specifically aimed at Grade 7–8 students. I want to help students at this stage develop strong mathematical foundations, improve their problem-solving abilities, and become more confident with challenging questions. My lessons combine conceptual explanations, guided practice, past-paper or exam-style questions, and regular online quizzes to ensure students are consistently understanding and retaining what they learn.
