About Claude
I’m naturally curious, you know the kind who ends up down a rabbit hole, reading about some random historical incident, an artist’s life, or how a currency collapse sort of remade a whole country, just because I wanted to understand it properly. I genuinely like learning about people, what pushed them forward, what they held onto, and how their decisions kind of ripple outward into the world we’re in now.
History is my biggest love, but it doesn’t really stand there by itself. I read fiction too, and honestly what pulls me into it is that a good story is, in a way, history that could have happened. Fiction lets you try out cause and effect, motive and consequence, in a manner that feels close to how real history actually works, and that’s part of why studying actual events is so engaging for me: it’s the same questions, just with real stakes attached.
I’m also into comics and art for pretty similar reasons. Visual storytelling, it compresses large concepts and emotional truth into something you can catch, almost at a glance, if you pay attention. And yeah economics is another genuine interest. I like figuring out how money moves, why it moves that way, and how it reshapes individual lives and even entire national histories. A lot of history only really clicks once you get the economics underneath it, so it ends up feeding right back into how I teach, and how I think about historical events in the first place.

My tutoring is centred on the skills that genuinely move the needle in OCR A-Level History… essay structure, argument-building, and exam technique, not just re-teaching content you’ve already worked through in class. I show you how to plan an answer when time is tight, how to shape a clean line of reasoning, and how to work with sources effectively, those are the bits where students usually slip and lose marks even when the history is strong.
The lessons are usually 60 minutes, with a blend of technique-focused teaching, memory routines for keeping key material in reach, practice on genuine exam questions, and detailed written feedback that you can actually use next time. I also help with researching skills, because it is essential to know what's reliable and accurate when studying and completing assignments.
I’ve just finished my own A-Levels (including OCR History), so I understand exactly where students stall and what examiners want, I’ve seen this board quite recently as well so my advice is up to date and specific, not the usual generic stuff. I’m best suited to Year 12 and Year 13 students aiming for OCR A-Level History who want to strengthen their essay writing, sharpen their exam approach, and build real confidence before the exams start.

I know Claude from our A-level History class. He was always one of the smartest students and had a great way of explaining difficult topics clearly.
During exam revision, he helped me understand essay structures and some of the harder content, which really boosted my confidence. He’s patient, knowledgeable, and I’d definitely recommend him as a tutor.I’ve only studied history with Claude, but from that, he was an attentive and knowledgeable tutor. Not only does he to teach the material, but how to write essays in a straightforward manner and most importantly, how to think like a historian. Things like analysing sources and historian interpretations became much easier with his help. We kept to a pace at my level and he made sure I had every skill down well. I think most importantly of all though, Claude’s the kind of tutor who gets happy watching others succeed. Couldn’t recommend him more.
Claude has been a great inspiration across the whole History department. He’s highly driven to succeed, and that has inspired me to also build his work ethic. He’s exceptional in history, so much so that his passion is felt through his work. I highly recommend him as a tutor, as he has helped countless students reach their full potential.
Claude is a very kind person. I know him because he was in my history cohort, and he honestly helped me so much to enjoy A-level history. For months, I’d been struggling with remembering content, doing AO3, etc. I never felt confident asking for help, but with Claude’s help, I was much more confident with my history content. My essays improved so much due to Claude’s resources and teachings. I am honestly so grateful for how he’s helped me overcome my weaknesses and find history more interesting. I’d recommend him to anyone who felt the same way I did. Thank you so much, Claude, you are the best!
Claude is an amazing educator. He has helped me understand how to analyze historical sources and other historians' interpretations. His tutoring is fundamental for my GCSE progress.
With Claude’s excellent knowledge and entertaining methods of teaching, students will most definitely enjoy working with him as he consistently brings positive energy as someone who has worked alongside him.
I was Claude’s classmate throughout years 12 and 13. He has a good understanding of different types of essay structures enabling him to create detailed essay plans for any type of essay. He helped me practise for writing synthesis essays on civil rights. His feedback highlighted key issues in my essay, and with this help I was able to improve my grade from a low C to an A.Claude was truly brilliant in helping me develop useful skills that I needed to succeed in A-level history. A kind, patient, and understanding tutor. I would highly recommend.
Claude is a fellow classmate of mine. He is very good in history and his essays are simply fantastic.
