About Vishnu
I am currently a student at Loughborough University, studying Economics and Finance. During my time at school, I discovered a real passion for tutoring younger students, helping them build confidence and achieve their academic goals. I particularly enjoy seeing improvement and development in students, especially those close to my own age, and take pride in using the techniques that helped me succeed at A-Level to support others in reaching their potential. My approach is friendly, patient, and structured, ensuring every student not only understands the material but also gains the skills and confidence to excel in exams.

My Approach to Tutoring: I take a structured, student-focused approach to tutoring, using the same methods that helped me improve from grade C to grade A in both Business and Economics at A-Level. I know firsthand what works — and what doesn’t — for students, having completed the 2025 examinations myself. Initial Assessment & Planning: At the start, I hold a one-to-one meeting with the student to discuss their aspirations, desired grades, current performance, and identify areas they find challenging. From this, we create a personalised study plan that focuses on their hardest topics first, setting clear targets and tracking progress week by week. Teaching Techniques & Methodology: I combine a variety of evidence-based study techniques to ensure deep understanding and long-term retention: Note Taking - gaining/developing knowledge of key topic areas to improve understanding and analysis Active recall – testing knowledge regularly to strengthen memory Flashcards – for key terms, definitions, and concepts Practice exam questions – applying knowledge under timed conditions Mind maps & structured notes – visualising connections between concepts Spaced repetition – reviewing material at optimal intervals to retain information Exam technique coaching – planning answers, analysing questions carefully, and learning how to structure responses for top marks Lesson Structure: - At the start of each week, I provide tasks and exercises to work through independently (Usually taking 30-45 mins a day as I understand students can get overwhelmed in their A-Levels) - On the weekend, we meet online for a 1:1 session, where I test understanding, clarify doubts, and review progress. - I am also available throughout the week to answer questions and provide guidance on challenging topics. Qualifications & Experience: I am currently studying Economics and Finance at Loughborough University and achieved A grades in both Business and Economics at A-Level in 2025, despite being predicted Cs at the end of the first year. This experience allows me to empathise with students and provide strategies that truly work. Who the Lessons Are For: My lessons are designed for A-Level and GCSE students looking to improve their grades, develop confidence in Business and Economics, and master exam technique.
