Basically, the most important thing to start learning a language is to know words and meaning.
I approach my teaching by reading a short story, then find the difficult words by students , then make the example of the each word in sentence. That is how the brain function to remember the words and exercise.
For the grammar, I also make easy technic so that they are logical and understandable for the students.
