About Jamie
I'm a graphic designer who's been playing music since he's 10 years old. I mainly focus on acoustic guitar but play banjo as well which informs my playing. If you're interested in seeing the technique I use get in touch and I can send on a video.

My teaching methodology deals with getting comfortable on the instrument while playing in an interesting and innovative way.
The first lessons deal mainly with the right hand. We'll explore building a groove from playing repeated melodic patterns. As we repeat these patterns we'll experiment with how we use our fingers to pluck the strings, ranging everything from clawhammer picking to over-plucking.
As the lessons progress we'll look into alternative tunings that pioneering folk guitarists like Davy Graham developed. We'll look into developing our own tunings and how these can inform our playing.
My lessons are not a traditional guitar lessons as I often found these hamper playing, forcing guitarists to play mechanically. The goal is make you feel comfortable on your guitar and to look forward to sitting down and playing everyday.
