About Me I am a dedicated and approachable tutor with a PhD in Neuroscience and extensive experience teaching at the University of St Andrews. With a background in pharmacology, neuroscience, and biomedical sciences, I have supported hundreds of students in achieving their academic goals. What sets me apart is my ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and accessible way. Hello, I’m Mohamed, a PhD-qualified neuroscientist and experienced university lecturer at St Andrews University with a strong background in neuroscience, pharmacology, and biomedical sciences. My Approach to Tutoring I focus on making complex topics simple and engaging. My sessions are interactive, tailored to each student’s goals, and built around active discussion, real-life examples, and problem-solving. I encourage students to ask questions and think critically rather than just memorising information. Teaching Methods I use a student-centred approach, adapting lessons to individual learning styles. I incorporate a variety of methods: clear explanations, visual aids, practice questions, and structured feedback. I often provide additional resources (e.g., summary notes, practice tasks) to support independent study between lessons. Lesson Structure A typical lesson lasts 60–90 minutes, depending on the student’s needs. Qualifications & Experience - Fellow of the higher education academy (FHEA) - Over 6 years experience in higher education - About 3 years experience at St Andrews University lecturing in Neuroscience. Also teaching experience in neuroscience, pharmacology, biomedical science, and related areas - PhD in Neuroscience - MSc in Pharmacology and BSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences - Experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, with proven success in improving understanding and academic performance Who My Lessons Are For - University students (undergraduate and postgraduate) studying neuroscience, pharmacology, biomedical sciences, or related fields - A-level and advanced school students preparing for biology or related exams
