About Elsa

I am passionate about sustainability and the environment. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, and have completed my Master of Industrial Engineering this beginning of April 2019.

I have started to give private lessons to students in primary school in Lebanon since I was 17 years old, and once I got into university, I started to give lessons to high school students: chemistry, mathematics, biology, physics, french.

I offered my help to students passing the French Baccalaureate, mostly supporting them in their French exam (épreuves anticipées de Français).

I am currently available to give chemistry lessons to high school students, and other basic courses for primary school students.
I also offer French courses for people willing to learn it from scratch or to practice it.

Finally, I offer Arabic lessons (oral only, and lebanese dialect), for people interested in the Lebanese culture and interested in learning the basics of a conversation.

Kindly note that I do not offer the 1st lesson for free.

Before starting my classes, I get to know my students and how they like to learn, their strengths and their weaknesses, and by which means they are more comfortable getting the information (visual, oral, etc).

I get to know the needs of my students, then base my classes to meet their goals. A typical class would be:
- breaking the ice for the 5 first minutes
- talking about the needs of the day/week/month and in which ways we are going to meet them today
- going through the lesson, giving examples and doing exercises
- evaluating the class at the end of the meeting and fixing new objectives for the next class

Find out more about Elsa

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

At 12 years old, I joined the scouts and I had the opportunity so many times to give out activities, workshops for my teammates . I found myself to be very comfortable with explaining things and delivering messages to different kind of audiences. Since then, I knew it could also be applied to private tutoring.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

I think it is important to try to leave this world a little better than we found it (as has well said Robert Baden Powell). We can each have an impact, little or big. I felt like I contributed a bit to helping other's out and making a difference in their lives by improving their skills, and this is what made me passionate about teaching.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

I like discovering people and contributing to making them better in places they need support with. I understand that we are all different, and working with different people makes tutoring very exciting: the tutor must adapt to his students, discover their strengths and deliver his message by advancing these strengths. I believe I have to interact in this way with my students.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

My french professor has inspired me so much when I was in high school. She had traveled and seen the world, and has inspired me everyday by her way of thinking and passion for her job.
  • What are your keys to success?

First of all, to believe in and love myself. Second, I think it is to do everything I do by staying true and genuine (authentic). Third, to persevere, ask for help when I need it. Finally, to auto-evaluate myself and always look to new ways to develop and improve myself.
