Dech is a great tutor! I highly recommend him. I appreciate how flexible, kind, and encouraging he is. I have been learning with him for about 4 months and I'm surprised by how much I've been able to retain. Lessons cover a lot of vocabulary and grammar, but the pace is fine for me because if you ask him to repeat, he will. I know that if I had an issue with the pace, he would slow down. For example, I am a visual learner so if he asks me something and it doesn't click, he will stop to write it out for me. I also often want to answer questions in ways that I haven't learned yet and he never gets annoyed. He just teaches me the vocabulary and grammar behind my thoughts. I also really appreciate the time and thought he puts into both the lessons and the homework. If I'm honest, I am just learning for fun so I have a casual approach. Most weeks I only do the lesson and homework without outside study and am still able to retain about 3/4 of the knowledge. The lessons do build upon themselves so if there are gaps in my knowledge because of my approach, I go back and consolidate after the lesson. It is important to remember that he is a tutor and most of the effort to actually learn has to come from yourself. He is also honest about how you are doing whether good or bad. I am well aware of my weaknesses (tones, sometimes mixing up sentence structure, the eu sound ) and he points them out without being discouraging. Thank you, Dech!
