About Hugo
Hello! I’m a passionate singing tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice. Music has always been my way of connecting, expressing, and transforming, and I love helping others discover that same power. I specialize in vocal training, theory, sight singing, and performance techniques tailored to each student’s goals. From classical arias to jazz standards, pop ballads to movie songs, I teach a wide variety of vocal styles with joy and versatility. I place a strong focus on ear training, harmony, and melody—building a solid musical foundation that supports creativity and growth. Whether you’re a school student, college learner, or aspiring professional, I adapt each lesson to your level and pace. I bring deep knowledge of music history, improvisation, composition, and music technology into my sessions, making learning both rich and relevant. My singing methodology for both The Church Ensemble Player and The Crossover Artist focuses on versatility, precision, and expressive depth. I guide singers in mastering multiple genres—classical, pop, jazz—while honoring the distinct vocal demands of each. Breath control, phrasing, and tone placement are tailored to suit the emotion and structure of every style.
For The Church Ensemble Player, we work on rich harmonies, controlled vibrato, and dynamic blending for sacred or choral settings. The Crossover Artist is trained to shift seamlessly between styles, fine-tuning vocal agility, pitch accuracy, and emotional delivery. Together, we explore how posture, resonance, and diction adapt across genres.
Modern tools like DAWs, metronomes, and pitch training apps are central to our practice. They help track progress, refine timing, and polish performance with clarity. I also use backing tracks and genre-specific exercises to immerse students in real-world music contexts. Whether preparing for a solo or blending into an ensemble, students learn to listen, adapt, and shine.
Above all, I encourage artistic identity while developing vocal flexibility. With dedication and the right tools, each voice becomes a unique, genre-crossing instrument.
