About DEEKSHA
I am a professional Bhartanatyam dancer with degree of Vidwat-2 and Gandharva Visharada. I have studied Bharatanatyam for 17 years and specialized in Tanjavuru dance style. I am a certified teacher and teaching Bharatanatyam since 4 years (online and in-person). I have students of all ages (kids to seniors). I have performed at various cultural festivals across southern India.
Currently living in Toronto downtown. I can teach in English, Kannada and Hindi.

All ages are welcome for beginners and intermediate level. My teaching style depends on the requirements of the student.
I can teach in English, Kannada and Hindi.
Short term students (5-10 classes):
Classes include Bhratanatyam exercise, basics of Adavu (different types of steps), Hastas (mudras or hand Gestures), Shlokas and theories on Bharatanatyam dance form and its origin
Long term or regular students:
Topics covered are exercises, Adavus, Theories, Hastas, Shlokas, Jatiswaras, Tillanas, pre-choriographed dances, introduction to choreography etc.
More importance will be given to perfecting facial expression, posture and movements. Progress of a student depends on his/her practice and dedication.
