About Chrysa
I am a native Greek philologist with a Bachelor's Degree in Classics and a Master's Degree in Latin Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Cyprus and will be writing my dissertation under the title "Teaching the Ancient Greek Language and Literature: An Alternative Didactic Approach". As a Fellow Visitor of Ralston College (USA) for the past two years, I teach Greek as a foreign language to the students of the College (Ralston MA in the Humanities), first in person during their stay in Greece (August-September), while accompanying the students to various significant historic/cultural sites throughout Greece, then remotely through an online course (October-June). I am officially certified to teach Greek as a second/foreign language by both the Center for the Greek Language and the University of the Aegean. I am also a professional musician, holder of a Classical Piano Diploma, with work experience as a piano teacher and accompanist. I enjoy teaching -languages, literature, culture, music, or a combination of the above!

Yes, the same thing applies both to Modern and Ancient Greek! Rather than focusing on Grammar rules and vocabulary lists, my method offers you a fully immersive experience of the Greek language and culture! With the help of graded readers or authentic literary texts, songs, poems, articles, and the like, you will find learning Greek a lot easier than expected! No matter what your age or your goal is, I am here for you! I am a fully qualified tutor, ready to help you get an official certificate or simply introduce you to the marvelous world of the Greek language and culture! I have taught the Greek Language privately, or with groups of 2-25 students, in person or online. I also administer Greek literature lessons online, where students read a given text (e.g. 1 chapter from a Greek novel every week) and then we discuss the content ONLY in Greek!
