About Lydia
As a postgraduate student in international management at Imperial College, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table that can benefit aspiring piano students. With my passion for music and ability to connect with others, I have what it takes to inspire and motivate your students to achieve their goals. As a part-time piano tutor, I will have the opportunity to share my love of music and help others develop their skills in a fun and engaging way. Lesson Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to introduce themselves in Chinese, including their name, age, and nationality.
Warm-up: Greetings and Pronunciation Practice
Start the class by greeting your students in Chinese and having them repeat after you.
Practice key pronunciation skills, such as tones and the "r" sound.
Review any relevant vocabulary or grammar structures that will be used in the lesson.
Introducing Yourself in Chinese
Begin by teaching your students how to say "my name is" in Chinese, which is "wo de ming zi shi".
Model how to introduce yourself by saying your own name, age, and nationality in Chinese.
Have the students practice introducing themselves in pairs or small groups, using the new vocabulary and grammar structure.
Listening and Speaking Practice
Play an audio clip of a native speaker introducing themselves in Chinese.
Have the students listen and try to identify the key vocabulary and grammar structures used.
Ask the students to practice their listening and speaking skills by repeating what they heard or creating their own introductions.
Cultural Discussion
Discuss with the students how introductions may differ across cultures, and how to adapt to different social situations.
Share interesting facts about Chinese culture and how it relates to introductions, such as the importance of showing respect and using proper titles.
Review and Recap
