About Derek
I've been working as a Korean Linguist for 13 years (three of which I spent as a student) I married a Korean national three years ago. I currently teach Korean 6 hours a week, in-person. I take an annual Korean Language test to maintain my skill. I have an Instructor Certification, AA in Korean, and Bachelor Degree in East Asian Studies. I am currently a Graduate-degree student going for Master's in International Relations.

Hello! I am here for you. I know how immensely difficult learning Korean can be. I tailor my lessons to the students learning objective--whether that be listening, reading, speaking, writing, or any combination of the former. I am a strong believer in weaving cultural ties and current events with language learning. Regardless of language level, I find ways to introduce Korean holidays, entertainment, cooking, geography, history and more! Overall, my promise is to prepare an excellent and abundant lesson plan for my students.
