About Andrea
I have a high school diploma in humanities and literature, a degree in Political Economics from Bocconi University and a Sociology Master from the London School of Economics, focused on the understanding of gender, racial and economic inequalities. I am a young and curious person, full of energies and life. I’ve done my first language-tutoring experience at the age of 14 to kids from migrant and disadvantaged backgrounds, and never stopped since. I teach to support myself while I travel the world volunteering, joining political struggles and exploring different cultures. I have visited more than 30 different countries and lived in 4. I am passionate about literature, philosophy and every independent and critical idea. I value the relationship between tutors and students as a mutually enriching exchange, in which teachers gain as well from trying to make sense of their knowledge through observing, listening and adapting its transfer to students' needs. I believe nobody is stupid or smart. Rather, there are several different learning processes and beautiful minds to work through and discover.

NOT BORING GUARANTEED! Through the experiences of tutoring online and in universities for over 5 years, and learning three new languages myself I developed an effective teaching method based on two main factors. Firstly the student must be engaged in first person and encouraged to repeat, build and deconstruct sentences, favoring understanding of their current use to memorizing by heart. Secondly lessons must be engaging and focused on topics of interest of the student to keep their attention level high throughout the long process of mastering a new language. I normally switch between oral discussions and written exercises, selected from my own database or custom made to fix concepts between one lesson and the following one. I am a careful listener with many interests and look forward to prepare for you tailor made lessons based on your needs, level and expertise. Let's learn Italian in a fun and interesting way discussing big philosophical ideas, psychology, sociology and critical theory, history, literature, movies or whatever else might interest you!

I have known Andrea for just a couple of years and he managed to teach me Italian from scratch to fluent.
