About Kayla
I am a dedicated guitar tutor with over 11 years of experience teaching students from elementary to advanced levels. I specialize in group classes and workshops conducted both offline and online. My teaching philosophy is built on collaboration where students learn from both guidance and shared musical experiences. I create a supportive environment that encourages confidence and active participation. Each session is structured to balance group learning with individual attention so every student continues to progress. I carefully observe each learner and provide personalized feedback within the group setting.
I have strong experience in ensemble playing and regularly guide students through coordinated group performances. Jam sessions are an important part of my teaching as they help students improve timing, listening skills, and creativity. I also arrange music to suit different skill levels so everyone can contribute meaningfully. This approach helps students understand group dynamics and develop real-world playing skills. My teaching approach for guitar is practical clear and adapted to each student level from beginner to advanced. I focus on building strong ergonomic technique to prevent strain and improve comfort while playing. Students learn open chords first to develop confidence and smooth transitions. Then I introduce power chords to build strength and rhythm control. Finger dexterity exercises are included in every session to improve speed and accuracy. I guide students step by step so they feel progress in every class. Ear training is a key part of my method because it helps students recognize tones and play by listening. I also teach music theory in a simple way including Roman Numeral Chord Nomenclature for better understanding of chord progressions. This helps students create and improvise music easily. For those interested in expressive playing I support detailed fingerstyle techniques with clarity and emotion. I also help learners who want to lead musical sessions with confidence strong rhythm and smooth transitions. Practice routines are structured but flexible. I always encourage creativity and personal style. My goal is to help students enjoy playing and grow with confidence
