About Claire
Bonjour future student,
Je m'appelle Claire. I am 27 years old and I live in the Western Isles. Learning English as a second language has opened many doors in my life and inspired me to support others on their own language learning journeys. I am now a Speech and Language Therapist, and I enjoy helping people develop their communication skills, build confidence, and adapt the way they express themselves.
I am passionate about languages, learning, and cultural exchange, and I love helping others open themselves up to new cultures and opportunities through language learning.

My tutoring sessions are flexible and tailored to each learner’s individual needs and goals. I am a native French speaker and Speech & Language Therapist, and I work primarily with conversational French, pronunciation, listening skills, and building confidence in real-life communication.
I am happy to work from school materials, support specific learning objectives, or focus on goals agreed in advance before sessions begin. I see myself as a tutor rather than a traditional teacher, and I adapt to what the learner wants to achieve rather than following a fixed curriculum.
All ages are welcome, provided that clear and achievable learning goals are agreed beforehand to ensure we're a good match. After each lesson, I provide personalised notes including vocabulary, expressions, pronunciation guidance, and key points covered to support ongoing learning.
