About Mareike
As an engineer who has lived and studied in France for a long time, I can support my students in learning the spoken language and in writing, as well as in acquiring technical vocabulary.
During my own school time, I already gave tuition in French, mathematics, English, chemistry and physics. I offered both one-on-one tuition and helped groups of students prepare for the DELF French exam. During my studies and my doctorate, I then taught various scientific subjects to students. Meanwhile I work as a yoga teacher and translator, but also give online lessons/tutoring.

The work with my students is always very individual and tailored to the learning objectives. I usually emphasize speaking the language in order to lose the fear of the language and develop a better sense for it. I will explain new vocabulary and grammar using examples from conversations or texts that we talk about. I am convinced that learning words and sentence structures in the context of their content is easier and more sustainable than stubbornly memorizing words and grammar rules. However from time to time there will be a need to review some grammar nevertheless.
