About Bas
I’m a blues guitarist and teacher originally from the Netherlands with a deep love for expressive guitar playing, improvisation and emotional storytelling through music. Over the years I’ve developed a relaxed and patient teaching approach focused on helping students enjoy the learning process while building real musical confidence.
My inspiration comes from artists such as B.B. King, Peter Green, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Neil Young and many other players who understand that feeling and phrasing are just as important as technique. I especially enjoy helping adults and returning players reconnect with music in a natural and encouraging way.
Whether you are picking up the guitar for the first time or returning after many years, my goal is to help you develop your own sound, expression and enjoyment of blues guitar.

My lessons focus on expressive blues guitar playing, phrasing, feel, improvisation and learning how to make the guitar truly sing. I work especially well with adults, late beginners and returning players who want to reconnect with music in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
Rather than focusing only on speed or complex theory, we work on musical confidence, tone, dynamics, rhythm, improvisation and enjoying the process of playing. Lessons are personalized to each student’s level and goals.
A typical lesson may include blues phrasing exercises, improvisation ideas, rhythm playing, jam tracks, ear training and practical musical techniques that can immediately be applied in real playing situations. I also use a visual MIDI fretboard system that allows students to clearly see the notes, scales and phrasing patterns being played in real time, making online learning easier and more intuitive. This visual approach is featured throughout my lesson and performance content.
My goal is to help students become more expressive, confident and connected to their instrument while keeping the experience inspiring and enjoyable.
