About Fabian
I'm Fabian, and I grew up loving guitar and all things musical. I have two degrees in music, and I have taught a great deal over the years. To me, teaching is more than just training another person to do something - it's helping to nurture a passion for something, to develop a sense of identity through a skill, and building a connection to art. I'm grateful I was afforded that privilege, and I want to share it with my students. Learning an instrument is proven to help the brain grow in all ways - motor skills, emotional skills, reasoning skills, and problem solving!
I am a qualified teacher, and have a PGCE in Music Education. I also have an extended DBS Certificate.

An introductory lesson is usually 1 hour long, and I recommend a full-length lesson to be 2 hours, which can be adjusted to your needs. These lessons are for everyone - adults and children alike, I have experience teaching both.
In the introductory lesson I want to get to know you - what style of music do you want to play? Are you preparing for any performances? Are you taking any grades?
A typical lesson will focus on repertoire development and focusing on the relevant techniques that are required to perform well at your level.
If you wish to follow a certain exam curriculum (Rockschool/RCL, Trinity, etc.) please let me know - I will ensure I have the resources prepared.

I've known Fabian for a while, which resulted in him giving me some introductory guitar lessons when I was starting out with no experience on stringed instruments. (My instrument of choice was piano, so I had some basics, but didn't know how to translate that knowledge onto a guitar.) He has a really approachable teaching style and explains things in a way that never feels overwhelming and is adaptable to your current understanding and experience. Even as a complete guitar beginner, I found it easy to follow along, and this in turn introduced me to wanting to explore more stringed instruments (of which I now own too many).
