About Poonam
Namaste! I’m a passionate lover of Indian music and traditional instruments, and I enjoy sharing the beautiful art of Dholak with others.
I believe learning an instrument should be enjoyable, relaxed, and easy to understand. That’s why I focus on practical learning and encourage students to learn at their own pace.
I welcome students of all ages and especially beginners who are picking up the Dholak for the first time. Whether you want to learn for fun, accompany bhajans and folk songs, or simply explore Indian music and rhythm, I’ll help you build your skills step by step.
My classes are friendly, interactive, and practice-oriented. I’m happy to work with students from different backgrounds and make Indian rhythms accessible to everyone.

My Dholak classes are designed to make learning fun, simple, and practical.
Whether you are a complete beginner or already know a few basic beats, we will learn step by step according to your level and goals.
In the classes, you can learn:
• Basic Dholak techniques and hand positions
• Different Dholak strokes and sounds
• Basic Taals and rhythm patterns
• How to maintain rhythm and timing
• Playing Dholak along with Indian songs
• Bhajans, folk songs and popular Bollywood rhythms
• Practice exercises to improve coordination and confidence
Classes are interactive and focused on practice rather than just theory. My goal is to help you start playing recognizable rhythms and songs as quickly as possible.
No previous musical experience is required. Just bring your enthusiasm and your Dholak!
