About Flávia
Oi! I’m Flávia, a Brazilian engineering graduate with a lifelong love of Portuguese and Brazilian culture. I’ve taught Portuguese to students of all ages through free university entrance exam preparation courses, and I earned perfect scores in Portuguese, literature, and essay writing on every university entrance exam I took.
During my internship at Penn State University, I taught Portuguese to a non-native speaker for the first time. Watching her fall in love with the language, and then with the music, stories, and culture behind it, made me fall in love with teaching it in a whole new way.
That’s the experience I want to share with you: the excitement of understanding a song, connecting with someone in their own language, and discovering a little more of Brazil with every conversation.
