About Rafael
Bonjour! I'm a native Canadian French speaker from Montreal with a passion for helping people communicate confidently in French.
Having lived and worked in different countries, I understand firsthand the challenges of learning a new language and adapting to a different culture. Because I speak English, Spanish, and Italian, I know what it's like to be on both sides of the classroom—both as a teacher and as a language learner. This allows me to explain French in a clear, practical, and encouraging way.
Over the years, I've worked with professionals, university students, newcomers to Canada, travelers, and language enthusiasts from many different backgrounds. I enjoy meeting people from around the world and helping them achieve their personal, academic, or professional goals through French.
I specialize in Canadian French. If you're planning to live, work, or study in Canada, I can help you understand the vocabulary, pronunciation, expressions, and cultural nuances you'll encounter in everyday life. At the same time, I can also help you navigate standard French whenever your goals require it.
For me, teaching is about much more than grammar and vocabulary. As a native French speaker from Montreal, I specialize in authentic Canadian French while also helping students understand standard French whenever needed. Whether you're preparing to move to Canada, studying for an exam, improving your French for work, or simply learning for personal enjoyment, I'll adapt every lesson to help you reach your goals.
My lessons are practical, interactive, and conversation-based. From the very beginning, you'll learn to communicate in real-life situations while improving your pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, and writing in a natural way. Rather than memorizing long vocabulary lists or complicated grammar rules, you'll learn how French is actually spoken by Canadians in everyday life.
I teach students of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners, and can also help you prepare for the TEF, TCF, and DELF exams. Since I also speak English, Spanish, and Italian, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and know how to explain French clearly and simply when needed.
My goal is to create lessons that are engaging, practical, and motivating, so you leave each class feeling more confident than when you arrived. By the end of our lessons, you won't just know more French—you'll feel comfortable using it in real conversations.
