About Valeria
I’m Valeria, a second-year Law student at the University of Manchester, with a strong academic background and a passion for helping younger students succeed in English. Studying law has strengthened my skills in reading, writing, and clear communication—skills that I bring directly into my tutoring.
I understand how important it is for students to feel supported and confident in their learning. I approach each lesson with patience, professionalism, and careful preparation, ensuring that every student receives structured and effective guidance. I take pride in being reliable, organised, and attentive to each student’s individual needs.
Having worked with younger learners, I am familiar with the challenges they face before GCSE level. I focus on building strong foundations in grammar, comprehension, and writing, while also helping students develop confidence in their abilities.

My name is Valeria, and I specialise in teaching English to students working below GCSE level. I aim to build confidence, improve core skills, and make learning enjoyable and engaging.
Teaching approach and methodology
I focus on creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, whether they need help with reading, writing, spelling, or basic grammar. I use a mix of interactive activities, simple explanations, and practice exercises to reinforce learning. I also include short quizzes and creative tasks to keep students engaged and help track progress.
Lesson length
A typical lesson lasts 45–60 minutes. This allows enough time to introduce a topic, practise it together, and review what has been learned without overwhelming the student.
I have experience working with younger learners and understand the challenges students face before reaching GCSE level. I focus on breaking down difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps so students can build strong foundations in English.
My lessons are designed for students particularly preparing for GCSEs in the future or who need extra support with basic English skills. This includes learners who may be struggling in school or those who want to get ahead and improve their confidence.
I am patient, approachable, and committed to helping every student progress at their own pace while developing a positive attitude towards learning English.
