About Heather
I have taught in the 4th largest school district in the US for 22 years. I am a bilingual/ESL teacher; my students came to the US from other countries so their English is limited. I have a classroom size of 22 5-year-olds at any given time. These students leave my classroom with a good foundation of English to be successful in the Texas School System.

Being a life-learner myself I find the most joy in life comes from exploring new skills and helping people. I possess a Texas Teaching Certificate and have been a teacher for 22 years. I've taught early learners in their native language (Spanish) while making sure they keep up with their English speaking peers.
I also mastered Spanish when I was an adult; I believe anyone can learn another language way after the school-age years.
My style is simple: I teach topic-based instruction. In other words, it's relevant language that is useful in our ever-shrinking world!
