About Caitlin
I am an IB student about to start a degree in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies. I have been studying English and French at a high level up to the current day. I have tutored three individuals so far; two in French for two years now and one in English for a year (focus on language to a foreign student, but also literature for their GCSE).

Through my tutoring so far, and studying myself, I have realised that repetition and consolidation are key factors in learning. Therefore, when teaching individuals, I focus on ensuring they have a thorough understanding of the topic through my assistance of providing notes and helpful sheets. Then, for repetition of the newly learned information, I get students to complete their own version of condensed notes which they feel work for them, followed by activities and exercises to finally consolidate the information. Additionally, at the beginning of each lesson I set a test/task on information learnt in the last lesson, to keep students’ minds ticking over. I also take into account different students’ different learning styles; if they learn best visually, I try and incorporate PowerPoints and and handouts with images, however if they are oral learners, I can provide recordings of notes and summaries for their revision.
