About Alex
I have been a private tutor for over a year, since graduating from University of Oxford in English Language and Literature. I am now studying Modern History at KCL and would love to take on a new student in History or related subjects, at any level up to A-Level.

My teaching method is based on an Oxford tutorial, using discussion and questioning of ideas to deepen my students' understanding of a topic. I have a relaxed but focused style, pushing my students to think deeply and write clearly.

I found Alex to be a fantastic tutor - he helped me prepare for the ELAT so I could apply to Oxford, and made me much more certain in the process that that was the right place for me to be. As well as helping me with the examination itself, he gave advice on what the interviews would look like, and details about the course there. Throughout our time together, alongside improving my ability to critically engage with a text, he was friendly, and made the sessions enjoyable as well as useful.
