About Devangi

Hello! I’m Devangi, an economist based in London. I hold an MSc in Economics and Policy from King’s College London (Distinction) and a first-class BA (Hons) in Economics. Originally from Kerala, India, I bring a global perspective to the subject, and I genuinely enjoy helping students not just understand economics, but enjoy it.

I currently work as a Teaching Assistant in Applied Econometrics at Imperial College Business School, where I lead seminars for around 190 Master’s students and support them one-to-one (rated 4.19/5 by students). I also have experience teaching economics to 16–17 year olds at a reputable summer school in London, so I’m used to adapting my teaching to very different levels and learning styles.

Alongside teaching, I work as a Research Assistant at King’s College London. That means I can help with more than exam content. I can also support students with data analysis and coding in R, Stata and Python. I’m especially comfortable helping students who are writing dissertations or working with real data for the first time.

In lessons, I break complex ideas into simple, structured steps, use real-world examples, and practise with past exam questions so that understanding turns into marks and performance. I’m patient and friendly, and I want every student to feel comfortable asking questions, however basic they seem.

I know how stressful economics can feel when the maths and theory pile up at once. My goal is for you to leave each lesson feeling more confident than when you arrived.

About the lesson

I offer tailored economics tutoring for GCSE, A-Level and IB students, and in-depth support for University students in Economics, Econometrics and related modules.

For school students, I focus on building strong core knowledge and turning it into exam marks. We break down theories into clear steps using real-world examples, diagrams and summary sheets, then practise applying them through past papers, essay planning and examiner-style feedback. Whether you’re aiming for top grades or just want to feel confident in the subject, lessons are structured, friendly and focused on results.

For University students, we work directly from your own lecture slides, problem sets and past papers, so every session targets what you’ll be assessed on, and what you need confidence in. Many students can follow the formulas but get stuck on why a concept works the way it does, and that’s where I focus. I can help with:
1. Micro and macroeconomics, including introductory modules for business students
2. Econometrics and statistics (regression, IV, difference-in-differences, RDD)
3. Coding for data analysis in R, Stata and Python
4. Dissertations and research projects, from research question to analysis and write-up
5. Exam preparation, including multiple-choice strategy and timed practice

Sessions are usually 60 minutes, online or in person in London, and I’m happy to adjust length and pace to suit you. I use interactive questioning throughout to check understanding as we go, so nothing gets left unclear.
