About Katherine
I have a Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School and will be continuing my studies at the Juilliard School in the Fall of 2020 as a Master of Music degree candidate. For the past five years, I have been teaching both piano and violin to middle and high schools students and have also been working as a writing tutor at the Writing Center at The Juilliard School, working with both undergraduate and graduate college students that are in need of help with their writing.
I have performed in many renowned concert halls such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the Terrace Theater at the Kennedy Center and have competed in and been awarded top prizes in a variety of international music competitions around the world. These include the Gisborne International Music Competition in New Zealand, the Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition in Boca Raton, FL, the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in Auckland, New Zealand, and I will be participating in the 2020 China International Music Competition in Beijing, China in November 2020.

I am very passionate about ensuring that all students, regardless of age, cultural or socioeconomic background, and race, are able to pursue their musical interests under current economic standards. I am a very energetic and active teacher with a strong passion for passing on my knowledge and musical, academic, and life experiences on to the next generation. I have worked with students of all levels ranging from young students never exposed to any music to older high school students that are preparing to audition for undergraduate conservatories.
