About Koni
Hello, I'm Koni. I'm a young lady who was born and bred in Johannesburg. The short story is I love English and I enjoy teaching, and I think of myself as a pretty good teacher.
Now for the longer story, heregoes.
My love for English began in grade one. I always excelled in 'Literacy,' as they called it then, more than Life Skills and Numeracy. Since English was my favourite subject, and one that I did well in, it led to my interest in writing. Fortunately, I've had the opportunity to enhance my English and writing skills through my Bachelor of Arts studies in Journalism at the University of Journalism.
Following my studies, I have worked as a Content Writer and Content Producer in the media industry. In 2020, I took a gap year to work as a private home school tutor (intermediate level) and taught English, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Life Orientation.
Lastly, I come from a family of teachers; my dad and two of his siblings are teachers and their mother, my grandmother, was also a teacher. I'm certain the teaching bug bit me too as I thoroughly enjoyed my 1-year stint as an educator in 2020.

Hello you!
Welcome to my profile. If you or your child are in need of an engaging and simple way to improve your English capabilities and proficiency, you've come to the right place.
I look forward to assisting you in any topic in English that you or your child might be battling with; from language basics such as sentence construction, parts of speech, punctuation & grammar to literature and writing.
All lessons are provided in English, however, I also have conversational skills in Tsonga, Zulu and Sesotho and would be happy to incorporate different languages to enhance understanding.
Prior to our first lesson, I would like to get an understanding of which areas you would like to focus on. From there on, I will create a tutoring plan designed to give you tools and improve your English.
Too much information can be overwhelming, so in each lesson, I will aim to focus on one specific area, this includes tutoring and practicing in the lesson. However, in order o build your knowledge, additional and previously taught topics will be incorporated into new focus areas.
I can tailor English lessons suitable for foundation phase literacy right up until first year FET level.
I have a growth mindset and believe we can all learn anything that we set our minds to. I look forward to sharing and growing with you.
