About Laila
Hi, I’m Laila. I graduated from Boston University with a B.S. in Journalism and have worked across multiple publications as both a writer and editor. My work spans reported features, cultural commentary, and fashion coverage, and I’ve led editorial teams in both student-run and professional environments. I’ve published writing across platforms that prioritize voice, clarity, and impact, and I’ve shaped stories from pitch to final edit. My experience also includes writing for events like New York Fashion Week and working in content strategy and copywriting roles. Writing didn’t come easily to me at first, in fact, it used to feel intimidating. But during high school, I had a tutor who helped me find clarity, confidence and eventually, a deep love for storytelling. That experience shaped not only how I write today, but how I teach.
As a journalism graduate from Boston University and an editor with hands-on industry experience, I understand how powerful it is to have someone guide you through the writing process with patience and care. That’s exactly what I aim to do for my students.
