About Nneoma
I am currently a rising junior at Johns Hopkins University. I have tutored in English since my sophomore year of High school. I've always found an interest in the structure of all kinds of languages. In the past, in high school, I was a part of Latin Honor Society, so I have tutored students with their work. Then also, I was in English Honor Society, so I helped people with grammatical and syntatic work. Then also, I have helped specifically with the English and Reading sections ACT. I scored a 35 on English and 32 on Reading because I feel that these sections came easy to me.

First, I would do some kind of ice breaker kind of thing to make sure we get more comfortable with one another and ask how they've been. Then, I generally ask the student questions in whatevr topic we're covering to gauge what they're comfortable with in the area. Then, once I get a feel for what they know, I do a brief review with what they're already strong with to solidify the foundation. After that, I teach a lesson starting with one of the topics that they aren't as comfortable with. Throughout this, I include brief questions to make sure they actually understand what's being taught. Then, after we complete that lesson for the day, I would do a review of everything covered for the day. And finally, I would ask them if they have any remaining questions and once I answer those I would assign homework till the next time we meet and tell them to ask any questions if they struggle with any part of it.
