About Winston
I am in the Jazz education program at Capilano University. A revered institution for performing arts. I am in my second year and I major in Clarinet yet I play a lot more instruments. For the past 7 years, I was classically trained and only moved to jazz a few years ago. I am, however, comfortable teaching both genres of theory as well as being able to teach the basics of jazz improvisation.

I teach beginner and intermediate theory while trying to make each lesson fun. I use the Royal Conservatory of Music textbooks as well as my own methods to personalize each lesson for each student. If you are just getting into music and don't want to be bogged down and overwhelmed with textbooks, I use a straightforward and simple method. With enough effort, I can guide you to grasp some of the harder aspects of theory.
