About Julia
Hello! I'm Julia!
I have over ten years of experience working in higher education at both The University of Pennsylvania and Victoria University of Wellington. I received my PhD in Classical Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in August of 2023. I have worked in many areas of a university, including as an instructor, teaching assistant, academic advisor and editor at Student Learning Support, and academic support worker with Disability Services. I also have experience working as a private tutor and education consultant with high school students.
I have extensive experience editing and advising academic essays. As a college instructor and teaching assistant I graded student essays and provided feedback for improvement. As an academic advisor and editor at Student Learning Support I worked one-on-one with students from all disciplines and degree levels, consulting and providing guidance regarding e.g., brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and revising their essays. In this role I served as personal proofreader and editor, providing feedback on language, grammar, syntax, and structure. I've also personally written and edited a PhD thesis, MA thesis, BAHons thesis, and countless academic essays!
I am passionate about education and helping students reach their writing goals.

Jullia taught me Latin at Victoria University of Wellington. I was never very good at languages, but Julia's patience helped me get a great grade so I could continue with my postgraduate studies. Julia is excellent and I highly recommend learning Latin from her.
