About Ethan
My name is Ethan, and I am a public health graduate at the University of California, Irvine with a strong academic foundation in biology, public health, and general sciences. Through my coursework and academic training, I have developed a clear understanding of how to break down complex scientific concepts into simple, structured explanations that students can actually understand and apply.
I take a patient, step-by-step approach to teaching and prioritize helping students build confidence in subjects they may find challenging. Teaching method and techniques:
I break down complex topics into smaller, logical steps and connect them to real-life examples, especially in biology and health-related concepts. I often use diagrams, simple analogies, and guided questioning so students don’t just get the answer—they understand why it works. I also emphasize practice problems and exam-style questions to build confidence and speed.
Typical lesson plan:
A normal session usually starts with a quick review of previous material to reinforce retention. Then we focus on one main concept for the day, breaking it down step-by-step. After explaining the concept, we work through examples together, gradually shifting from guided practice to independent problem-solving. I end each session with a short recap and a few targeted practice questions so students can apply what they learned on their own.
