Is mise Anna, agus tá mo chroí agus m'anam istigh sa Ghaeilge!/ Hello, I'm Anna, and I'm passionate about the Irish language! I'm an Irish language professional and for over 15 years I have been active in pobal na Gaeilge/ the Irish language community. I am a grammar nerd and am endlessly fascinated by how the Irish language works, grows and develops.
Tutoring has given me the opportunity to share my passion for the Irish language with others and witness them develop their relationship with it, which has been extremely rewarding.

Ranganna/classes typically last an hour and cater for beginner to advanced-intermediate learners. While I love all aspects of the Irish language, I specialise in Irish language grammar tuition.
My approach is casual, non-structured and does not focus on a particular educational syllabus. My services are a compliment to Irish language classes the learner is undertaking separately and personal self-study. The learner will benefit most from my tuition by bringing any questions they have which have emerged from their classes and/or self-study.
Alternatively, the learner may wish to practise their verbal Irish, listening skills, or reading skills. I adopt a patient approach where I am happy to listen, correct and advise, providing the learner with a comfortable space to make mistakes and improvements.
I have a masters with first class honours in Irish Language Writing and Communication and an undergraduate degree in Modern Irish.
I have worked in the Irish language sector since 2019 and I have 2 years of tutoring experience. I have successfully helped learners develop from only having cúpla focal/ a few words to being able to hold a fluent conversation on limited Irish, and make sense of the trickiest Irish language grammar, which has been a real confidence boost.

Perfect! Anna is a very good teacher, her level of knowledge was excellent and was very helpful and supportive in the topics I asked her to help me in. I would definitely recommend her as a tutor.

Perfect! Anna is an exceptionally good tutor, she gave my son grinds to prep for his oral Irish and they have helped hugely. Anna also followed up with tips on pronunciation via text which was really useful for my son to revise. Overall top notch tutor and such a pleasure to deal with, highly recommend!

Anna is a great Irish tutor. She is very well organised, explains everything really well, especially the grammar which I find the most difficult. She is really easy to talk to so we can have relaxed conversations without any embarrassment if I get something wrong. She’s very patient, corrects me in a gentle way and explains how to say things in different ways too which helps it sink in better and makes it stick for next time. Thanks Anna!!
