About Yara
Hi, I’m Yara, an experienced and passionate tutor specialising in IB Higher Level (HL) Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. As a former IB student, I understand the challenges of the IB curriculum and what it takes to succeed. With 3 years of tutoring experience, I have adopted an interactive and tailored teaching approach to each student’s unique needs, ensuring sessions are both engaging and effective. Whether you're aiming for a 6/7 or simply want to gain clarity on tricky topics, I am here to support you every step of the way. In addition to my strong academic background, I’m highly familiar with IB assessment criteria and examiner expectations. Let’s work together to unlock your full potential!

I tailor each session to the individual needs of the student, ensuring they fully understand complex concepts in a clear and structured way. Whether you're preparing for an Internal Assessment (IA), an Extended Essay, or mastering exam-style questions, I focus on building confidence and deep comprehension. Teaching techniques: 1-Customised Lessons: I assess each student's strengths and areas for improvement, designing lessons that align with their IB syllabus (SL/HL) and specific learning goals. 2-Concept Clarity: For subjects like Biology and Chemistry, I use diagrams and flowcharts to break down challenging concepts. For Psychology, I emphasise applying theories to real-world examples and strengthening essay-writing skills. 3-Exam Focus: I integrate past IB exam questions and provide strategies for tackling command terms (e.g., “Explain,” “Evaluate,” or “Analyse”). This is the most efficient method of understanding content and achieving excellent results.
